Philippine beauty queen Katrina Llegado highlighted Filipino culture and artistry as she represented the country at the Miss Supranational 2026 pageant in Poland, earning attention for her stunning performances during the competition’s preliminary events.
During the pageant’s costume showcase in Nowy Sącz, Poland, Llegado wore a dramatic national costume inspired by the Philippines’ iconic gumamela (hibiscus) flower, designed by Filipino designer Mitch Viray.
The voluminous red creation paid tribute to the common flower found across the Philippines, symbolizing resilience, strength, and beauty.
“I’m honored to wear this national costume inspired by the gumamela, a flower that can be found all across the Philippines,” Llegado shared.
She added that the costume represents the values she carries while competing on the international stage.
“It may look delicate, but it blooms with resilience, strength, and beauty wherever it grows. Those are the same values that I am carrying as I represent our country on the Miss Supranational stage,” she said.
Llegado also impressed during the preliminary rounds, wearing a fully beaded red gown by her longtime designer Pablo Mendez for the competition’s “elegance round.” Her gown presentation, along with her appearance in the “confidence round” wearing an asymmetrical black swimsuit, drew praise from pageant fans and analysts.
The Filipina beauty queen is competing for the Philippines’ second Miss Supranational crown, following Mutya Datul’s historic victory in 2013.
The Miss Supranational 2026 final competition is scheduled on July 31 in Poland (August 1 in Manila).
