

Filipino gymnast Karl Eldrew Yulo advanced to the floor exercise final of the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup leg in Baku, Azerbaijan, after finishing fourth in the qualification round.
Yulo posted a score of 13.800, enough to secure a place in the finals scheduled on Saturday, March 7, in what also marks his senior-level debut in the international tournament.
In an online post, the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines confirmed the young gymnast’s entry to the medal round, congratulating him for successfully advancing to the floor exercise final.
“FINALS BOUND FOR FLOOR EXERCISE! In his senior level debut, Karl Jahrel Eldrew Yulo successfully secured his finals spot in the floor exercise event after finishing fourth in the qualifications with a score of 13.800,” the federation said.
The national body added that more qualification events are scheduled as the competition continues, with the event finals set to begin on March 7.
Another Filipino gymnast, John Ivan Cruz, is also competing in the tournament representing the Philippines.
Yulo aims to deliver a strong performance in the finals to secure a podium finish at the international meet.
