Filipino gymnast Eldrew Yulo captured his first senior gold medal in the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup after ruling the men’s floor exercise final in Antalya, Turkey with a score of 14.100.
Yulo delivered a steady and powerful routine in the Antalya leg of the prestigious meet to finish atop the podium, edging out Ireland’s Eamon Montgomery, who settled for silver with 13.833, and Spain’s Rayderley Zapata, who claimed bronze with 13.333.
The victory marked a milestone for the young Filipino gymnast, as it was his first gold medal at the senior level of the Gymnastics World Cup, signaling his growing presence in the international gymnastics scene.
Yulo’s breakthrough performance also served as a strong rebound from his previous outing in the Baku leg of the same competition, where he finished sixth in the floor exercise and seventh in the horizontal bar finals.
Yulo is the younger brother of Olympic champion Carlos Yulo, and his latest achievement further underscores the rising depth of Philippine gymnastics on the world stage.
