The House prosecution panel will ask the Senate impeachment court to issue a subpoena for “Mary Grace Piattos,” one of the names listed as a recipient of the Office of the Vice President (OVP)'s confidential funds, private prosecutor Atty. Lorna Kapunan said on Tuesday.

“Mary Grace Piattos” is among the names questioned by the prosecution over its identity and existence in the OVP’s acknowledgment receipts for confidential fund disbursements.

Kapunan said they intend to have the subpoena sent to the OVP after their efforts to locate the supposed confidential fund recipient proved unsuccessful.

“Isa-subpoena ko nga si Mary Grace Piattos,” Kapunan told reporters in an ambush interview before the 12th day of Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

“Hinahanap pa namin, hindi namin makita. Kung saan-saan kaming Mary Grace na pumunta hindi namin makita. Papadala namin sa Office of the Vice President yung subpoena,” she added.

She said the prosecution is still trying to verify the identities of individuals listed as recipients of the confidential funds.

Kapunan also hinted that more unusual names appearing in the documents may be presented during the trial after the defense panel refused to stipulate on the authenticity of the names.

“Marami tayong ipapalabas. Hindi naman nag-stipulate eh. Kung nag-stipulate ang defense sa mga pangalan na ‘yan, baka hindi namin ipakita, pero ayaw mag-stipulate, ipapakita namin yung mga pangalan na kakaiba,” she said.

The Senate impeachment court entered the 12th day of Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial on Tuesday, continuing proceedings on Article I of the Articles of Impeachment, which centers on allegations of the misuse and misappropriation of ₱500 million in confidential funds from the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and another ₱112.5 million from the Department of Education (DepEd) during her term as education secretary.
