“K-Pop Demon Hunters” singer EJAE finally gave fans a glimpse of her engagement with music producer and now-fiancé Sam Kim.
In an Instagram post shared on Monday, January 26, the Grammy-nominated artist shared a tiny glimpse of what the past few months were like for her, captioning it with “memories.” Among them were two engagement-related photos.
One photo captured Sam’s proposal in an area filled with flowers and a tree. Meanwhile, the second photo showed the couple’s cake with a message, “HAPPEE ENGAJMINT SAM + EJAY,” which is a nod to “Harry Potter.”
The singer had previously revealed that she and her fiancé had been in a relationship for eight years. Although the musician had mostly kept her personal life private, she shared in a radio interview that she got engaged in November, but remains focused on her music career.
EJAE is the singing voice of the purple-haired fan-favorite, Rumi, in the animated film, “K-Pop Demon Hunters.” Apart from her vocals, she also co-wrote several of the film’s soundtrack, including “Golden.”
The film won Best Motion Picture at the Golden Globes this year, where EJAE became emotional as she shared what rejection and redirection were like for her.
“I just wanna say, this award goes out to people who’ve had their doors closed at them, and that I can confidently say that rejection is redirection. So never give up, and it's never too late to shine like you were born to be,” EJAE expressed.
