After months of appearing as a guest co-host on Dogshow Divas, former beauty queen Joy Barcoma announced on Monday that she will be stepping away from the popular local podcast following “comments” on her guest appearances.
Joy said in a social media post that she had read remarks on the frequency of her appearances with host Baus Rufo, in Macoy Dubs’ absence.
She clarified that how often she guests in the podcast is not entirely in her control.
“Today, I’ve decided to step away from Dogshow Divas. Nabasa ko ang comments about my guestings. I’ve always been grateful whenever I’m invited to join podcasts when my schedule allows, but how often I appear isn’t something I personally control,” she said.
While she expressed gratitude to all their supporters, she has decided to leave the podcast for the time being, to prioritize her well-being.
“Grateful ako to everyone who supported us, but for now, I’m choosing to protect my peace,” she said, wishing everyone behind the podcast all the best.
The following day, hosts Baus Rufo and Macoy Dubs issued a statement regarding Joy’s decision to leave the podcast.
On their Instagram page, Dogshow Divas thanked the former beauty queen for her time, energy, and humor. They denounced the “hate” Joy received from fans, saying they refuse to condone “hate in any form,” and supported her decision.
“Maraming salamat, Jusa! Super grateful ang buong Dogshow Divas family for all the time, energy, tawanan, at kalokohan you’ve shared with us!” read the post.
“We will never condone or tolerate hate in any form. Your peace and well-being should always be protected. Thank you for being such a special part of this beautiful journey,” they added.
“We will always be rooting for you, Jusa!”
