PBA and Gilas Pilipinas legend Jimmy Alapag has ended his nearly six-year stint with the Sacramento Kings organization, marking the close of his NBA coaching journey that began in the G League.

Alapag confirmed his departure through social media, expressing gratitude to the Kings for the opportunity to fulfill his long-held dream of coaching in the NBA.

He joined the organization in 2019 as part of the Stockton Kings, Sacramento’s G League affiliate, before earning a promotion in 2023 as a player development coach under head coach Mike Brown.

During his tenure, Alapag worked closely with NBA players and contributed to player development programs, further building his coaching résumé after a decorated playing career in the Philippines.

Before moving to the NBA system, Alapag was one of the Philippine Basketball Association’s most accomplished guards, winning six championships and earning two Finals Most Valuable Player awards.

The Kings wrapped up the 2025–2026 NBA season with a 22–60 record, finishing near the bottom of the Western Conference standings.

Alapag has not yet announced his next career move following his departure from Sacramento.
