Filipino-American singer Jessica Sanchez has been hailed the winner of America’s Got Talent (AGT) Season 20!
The AGT victor put on a knockout show with her captivating rendition of Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga’s “Die With a Smile.”
Actress Sofia Vergara, who welcomed Jessica with a Golden Buzzer during the season’s auditions for her performance of “Beautiful Things,” said her singing was “perfection.”
“You look beautiful, your voice—I’ve never heard anything like that,” she told the singer.
Former Spice Girl Mel B described her vocals as “flawless and pitch perfect” whatever song she sings.
“I feel like every time you sing, you kind of bring us into your world, more and more. You give us more emotion, more passion,” the judge said.
For Comedian and TV personality Howie Mandel, Jessica’s performance was the “best act of the night!”
Simon Cowell felt Jessica had managed to give an extra 10 percent of herself during this final performance, and emphasized that her success so far shows the importance of believing in oneself.
“It was so important for our 20th anniversary that you came back, importantly, to show that even if you don’t win the first time, you’ve got to always believe in yourself … It was, I think, the best performance we’ve heard from you so far,” he said.
In a Facebook live, Jessica thanked her fans for their “overwhelming” support.
“Thank you guys so much for all of the support. I am just overwhelmed by the amount of comments and the love you guys have been showing me,” she said.
Before the AGT winner was announced, Jessica said her journey has been 20 years in the making. She celebrated her 30th just last month, and she was only 10 years old when she joined the first season of AGT.
