Actress and social media personality Ivana Alawi said she "still can't believe" she won two awards at the first-ever FAMAS Broadcast Awards, where she was recognized for her public service program and hosting.

Alawi was named Best Public Service Show Host, tying with award-winning broadcast journalist Kara David. Her vlog, "Ivana For All," also won Best Public Service Show, giving the actress two awards during the ceremony.

"Still can't believe na nanalo tayo ng 2 FAMAS Awards," Alawi wrote in a social media post on Wednesday, July 23.

"Thank You, Lord, for always reminding me that Your plans are always greater than mine. Lagi Mo akong sinusurpresa sa tamang panahon," she added.

"Maraming salamat, FAMAS, sa tiwala. At higit sa lahat, maraming salamat sa bawat isa sa inyo na patuloy na nanonood, sumusuporta, at naniniwala sa lahat ng ginagawa ko," she said.

Reflecting on her journey, Alawi said her dream has always been to bring joy to others and help those in need.

"Nagsimula lang ako sa simpleng pangarap na makapagpasaya at makatulong sa kapwa. Kaya bawat blessing na natatanggap ko, mas lalo akong naniniwala na hindi ito para sa akin lang, kundi para maibahagi rin sa mas maraming tao," she said.

"Hangga’t may kakayahan ako, hindi ako magsasawang tumulong at ibalik ang pagmamahal na binibigay ninyo sa akin," she added.

Alawi was nominated in the Best Public Service Show Host category alongside Kara David, Jessica Soho, PAO Chief Persida Rueda-Acosta, Dr. Edinell Calvario, and Vicky Morales.

The recognition comes weeks after Alawi faced criticism online over her promotion of an online gambling site. On July 15, Alawi uploaded a vlog showing her purchase of 100 iPhone 17 units for a P4.28-million giveaway, which required participants to follow the Facebook page of an online gambling platform she endorses.

While many praised the gesture, others questioned the mechanics of the promotion, arguing that the requirement effectively directed her millions of followers to an online gambling platform.

As of this writing, Alawi has yet to publicly address the controversy surrounding the giveaway and her endorsement of the online gambling platform.
