

South Korean stars IU and Lee Jong Suk have ended their four-year relationship, their respective agencies have confirmed.
IU’s agency, EDAM Entertainment, and Lee Jong Suk’s agency, ACE Factory, both confirmed that the couple had broken up after publicly acknowledging their relationship in 2022.
“It is true that they broke up,” the agencies said in statements reported by Soompi.
“The two recently broke up. They decided to remain good senior and junior colleagues,” both agencies added in a report by the Korean media outlet.
IU and Lee Jong Suk first confirmed their relationship in 2022 after reports surfaced about their romance. The two had known each other as colleagues for years before their relationship developed into a romantic one.
In a previous letter, IU shared that they had been colleagues for a long time before deciding to date.
Lee Jong Suk’s agency previously announced their relationship, saying: “Actor Lee Jong Suk and IU recently progressed from being close acquaintances into being a couple, and they are maintaining a serious relationship.”
The couple’s relationship lasted for nearly four years. Their romance was first revealed by Dispatch on December 31, 2022.
IU, whose real name is Lee Ji-eun, is known for her acting roles in dramas such as “Hotel Del Luna” and “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo.” Her recent projects include “When Life Gives You Tangerines” and “Perfect Crown.”
Lee Jong Suk, meanwhile, has starred in popular dramas including “Romance Is a Bonus Book,” “Pinocchio,” “Doctor Stranger,” “W,” “While You Were Sleeping,” and “Big Mouth.”
