Manila will host a WTA 250 tournament in 2027 as part of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Tour’s Asian Swing, the Philippine Sports Commission said.

The tournament is scheduled to begin Nov. 1, 2027, marking the Philippines’ addition to the WTA 250 calendar next year.

The WTA 250 event will be the second international women’s tennis tournament to be held in Manila in 2027, following a WTA 125 tournament scheduled for January.

“Sports tourism is really part of the strategy of the Philippine Sports Commission and the office of the President. To be able to host WTA 250 next year, isang karangalan and truly exciting,” PSC Chairman Patrick “Pato” C. Gregorio said.

According to the PSC, the Philippines has secured a three-year contract to host the WTA 250 event.

The WTA 125 tournament in January will also return for its second year in 2027 under a similar three-year agreement, the commission said.

The hosting of the tournaments is expected to further position Manila as a destination for international tennis events while contributing to the country’s sports tourism efforts.
