The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is expected to bring cloudy skies, scattered rains, and thunderstorms over parts of the Visayas and Mindanao on Wednesday, September 16, according to PAGASA.

Based on the weather bureau's 4 AM bulletin, the Negros Island Region, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Masbate, Lanao del Sur, and Davao Oriental will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.

The rest of the Visayas and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, also due to the ITCZ.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will generally experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms.

Tropical depression outside PAR

As of 3 a.m. Wednesday, PAGASA is still monitoring a tropical depression outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

The tropical depression was located 2,970 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon, at 15.0°N, 149.3°E.

It has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kilometers per hour.

The system is moving slowly west-northwestward.
