The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and easterlies are expected to bring rains and thunderstorms to several parts of the country on Monday, October 12, according to PAGASA.
In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said the ITCZ is affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, while easterlies are affecting the eastern sections of Northern and Central Luzon.
The agency forecast cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Central Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Leyte, and Southern Leyte.
Cloudy skies with rains are also expected over Batanes and the Babuyan Islands due to the northeasterly windflow.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Central Luzon, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Benguet, and Pangasinan may experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
The rest of Visayas and Mindanao, as well as the rest of Luzon, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides in areas affected by moderate to, at times, heavy rains. Flash floods or landslides may also occur during severe thunderstorms in other parts of the country.
For coastal conditions, moderate seas with waves ranging from 1.5 to 2.5 meters are expected over Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, and the western section of Southern Luzon. Slight to moderate seas, with waves of 0.6 to 1.8 meters, are forecast over Visayas, the rest of Luzon, and Mindanao.
Meanwhile, a tropical depression was being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as of 3 a.m. Monday.
PAGASA located the weather disturbance 3,030 kilometers east of Central Luzon, with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 70 kph. It was moving slowly north-northwestward.
