Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso on Tuesday promised that the long-delayed construction of the Ramon Magsaysay High School building will be completed within a year, following his directive to resume the project, as reported by RH Boy Gonzales.

The Manila Mayor led the resumption of the construction of the 10-story, fully air-conditioned facility, located along España Boulevard in Sampaloc, Manila.

“Next year, on the same day and time, we will inaugurate Magsaysay High School,” the Mayor said.

“We make sure to the barangay officials, to the parents, faculty, 'pag hindi ito natapos ng 1-year, soli pera,“ he added.

Moreno said that restarting the project aims to restore confidence among parents, teachers, and students after years of construction delays.

The mayor assured that the local government will ensure the project proceeds smoothly without interruptions, allowing students to return to a complete and safe school environment.

He also emphasized that once completed, the building will protect students from hazards and disruptions caused by ongoing construction.

Moreno highlighted that the project fulfills one of his campaign promises and that the city government has secured funding to make it happen.

According to the mayor, school facilities should be planned not only for current needs but also to accommodate population growth in the coming years, preventing classroom shortages.

He added that the city government is focused on providing “minimum basic needs,” including education, healthcare, housing, and employment, rather than investing in decorative projects.
