Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso led the inauguration of the newly renovated Emergency Room of the Ospital ng Sampaloc on Monday, completing the project in just 83 days, earlier than the 90-day timeline set by the city government.
Moreno said the project reflects his administration’s “Bilis Kilos” governance, aimed at fast and effective public service. He recalled the poor condition of the emergency room in the past, which posed risks to both patients and health workers, stressing the need to upgrade public hospitals in the nation’s capital.
The mayor emphasized that improved facilities benefit not only patients but also medical frontliners, as part of the city’s commitment to meeting basic health needs. He also ordered all health centers in Manila to be fully equipped with the 21 basic items required by PhilHealth to ensure quality healthcare services for Manileños.
