Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso announced on Tuesday, January 13, the arrest of Manila’s Top 1 Most Wanted Person, a murder suspect linked to the killing of a criminology student in Tondo in October 2023.
The suspect, identified as Prince Ethan Cruz, was arrested by operatives of the Manila Police District (MPD) under a warrant of arrest for murder following a sustained manhunt by district intelligence and tracker teams.
In a livestream from Manila City Hall, Domagoso reaffirmed his administration’s tough stance against crime, warning that offenders will be pursued regardless of how long it takes. He said crimes committed in Manila will not go unpunished.
The mayor said Cruz was listed as the city’s Top 1 Most Wanted in connection with the 2023 killing of a resident of Tondo, District 2. He commended the MPD for apprehending the suspect without any loss of life, emphasizing disciplined police operations and adherence to due process.
Domagoso assured the victim’s family and Manila residents that the city government and MPD remain committed to public safety and to ensuring that justice is served.
