The Intramuros Administration (IA) on Sunday waived its requirement for photography permits, welcoming guests with professional cameras to take personal or souvenir photos.
In partnership with CameraHaus, the IA aims to make heritage photography more accessible and encourage photographers to showcase Intramuros through their lenses.
The IA said photographers should still observe site guidelines, like restrictions on flash photography in some areas so as to preserve historic structures and museum collections.
On October 24, the CameraHaus, in collaboration with the IA and the Department of Tourism (DOT), held its inaugural Street Summit, where over 300 photographers, content creators, and visual artists gathered for a community photowalk in the Walled City.
The Summit invited participants to capture the Walled City with fresh eyes, in line with the theme “Intramuros Reframed.”
