Fashion and lifestyle influencer Camille Co has posted on X, denying any involvement in the alleged anomalous flood control projects circulating online, after her name was mistakenly associated with the issue.

The mix-up reportedly stems from confusion with Claudine Co, who is said to be the 25-year-old daughter of Christopher Co, a former AKO Bicol Congressman and co-founder of Hi-Tone Construction and Development Corp., who is linked to the controversial projects.

The 15–year industry personality said the mix-up has been “deeply unfair” and has caused her unnecessary stress. She emphasized that she has no ties whatsoever to the controversy and should not be held accountable for the actions of others who happen to share her surname.

“I have been in this industry for 15 years. FIFTEEN LONG YEARS to build my career and get to where I am now. FIFTEEN YEARS of building my reputation. I didn’t know anyone in this industry. I started from zero… Never even click baited you,” she said.

Co explained that she has carefully built her career and reputation since starting out as a content creator with no industry connections. She underscored that her work has always been focused on creating lifestyle and fashion content, not politics or business dealings.

More than a personal inconvenience, the influencer stressed that her livelihood depends on her name and reputation. She described content creation not as a side project, but as her main source of income—supporting her household, staff, and children’s education.

Co also pushed back against suggestions that she simply adopt her husband’s surname to avoid confusion, saying she refuses to give up the name she has worked hard to establish in the digital space.

“Why will I allow these people to take away my name that I worked so hard to build and protect? I refuse to let them take my name from me,” she said.

For now, she said her priority is to return to her usual work and move past the controversy that, in her words, “wrongfully dragged” her into the spotlight.
