The chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) declared the three-day gathering of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) as generally peaceful as it concluded Thursday at Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila.
PNP chief Police Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the event remained orderly despite traffic disruptions and several arrests reported on the first day of the rally, which he described as minor incidents, according to a report by DZRH news reporter Edniel Parrosa.
Nartatez noted that no major untoward incidents were recorded throughout the gathering, except for an isolated case near the People Power Monument in Quezon City.
The PNP expressed gratitude to the organizers and participants for maintaining order, peace and discipline during the event.
The police chief also commended officers deployed during the rally, recognizing their efforts in ensuring public safety throughout the three-day activity.
Earlier, authorities reported that seven police officers were injured, while four individuals were arrested during the first day of the protest. Those arrested were later released.
Nartatez said the PNP will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the event, including a review of intelligence operations and determining whether any charges should be filed in connection with the incidents.
