The Senate impeachment court will suspend proceedings on July 27 and 28 to make way for President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) and the opposition’s kontra-SONA.

Presiding Officer and Senator-Judge Francis “Chiz” Escudero announced during the eighth day of the impeachment trial that hearings will resume on Wednesday, July 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a lunch break included.

The Senate will then proceed with its regular session at 4 p.m. on the same day.

Starting in August, the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte will continue every Monday to Wednesday, according to the new hearing schedule.
