The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) will carry on until it fulfills its mandate or President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. dissolves the commission, said ICI Executive Director Atty. Brian Hosaka on Friday.
This comes after the Office of the Ombudsman said that the independent probe body may only operate for one or two months more, to be dismantled only after they have turned over their findings concerning the flood control scandal.
Hosaka emphasized that the commission will only be terminated once it fulfills its duty, as established in Executive Order No. 94, which formed the ICI.
On September 11, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. launched the ICI, which was tasked to probe anomalies in the flood control controversy and other related projects over the past 10 years.
Meanwhile, Hosaka confirmed that the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has issued a notice of cash allocation for the commission’s ₱41-million fund, in response to resigned ICI Commissioner Rogelio “Babes” Singson’s statement that the probe body’s volunteers have not been paid.
