The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) on Tuesday dismissed former Senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV’s claim that the commission invited Senator Christopher “Bong” Go to appear before it.
“No invitation has been sent by the commission to Senator Bong Go to appear as a resource person,” said ICI Executive Director Atty. Brian Keith Hosaka.
In a Facebook post, Trillanes alleged that Go had been invited by the ICI but refused to attend.
“I have information that Bong Go was already invited to appear before the ICI pero ayaw nyang pumunta, unless kasama nya sina Imee at Bato para may tiga-abogado sa kanya. Let's keep the pressure on - dapat imbitahan si Bong Go kasama ang tatay at kapatid nya,” Trillanes wrote.
It may be recalled that the former senator previously filed a plunder complaint against Go and former President Rodrigo Duterte over what he described as anomalous infrastructure projects worth nearly ₱7 billion.
Go has repeatedly denied the allegations, urging him to file a formal complaint against his alleged financer.
“To Trillanes, you are barking at the wrong tree. Kung seryoso ka talaga, bakit hindi mo kasuhan yung mga totoong mga kurap talaga? Bakit hindi mo kasuhan yung mga financers mo? Yung mga contractor, alam mo 'yun,” Go emphasized.
