The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) said on Friday that it is in the process of studying and drafting the rules and parameters for livestreaming its inquiries into infrastructure anomalies, in response to a demonstration staged in front of the probe body’s headquarters in Taguig.

“The ICI is actively studying and drafting the rules of procedure and parameters to allow livestreaming, while respecting the law and the rights of all concerned,” the ICI said in a press release.

Aside from its demands for accountability and justice, the People Surge National Alliance of Disaster Survivors and Victims for Justice and Compensation earlier called on the ICI to be transparent with its investigation processes.

The ICI said it has always publicly announced its hearings and the personalities set to appear before the panel.

In addition, it assured that it is carefully evaluating and validating all information gathered from its resource persons.

“Before referring cases to the Office of the Ombudsman, we ensure that all findings are substantiated and capable of withstanding scrutiny in the court of law to prevent dismissal,” the ICI wrote.

The independent body reminded the public that it was established just over a month ago, with its budget approval still pending with the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

However, the ICI said it remains steadfast in fulfilling its mandate to expose the truth and hold the guilty accountable.

“The ICI hears and understands the public’s call for accountability and justice. The Commission is one with them against corruption,” it said.
