House prosecution panel member Rep. Bienvenido Abante Jr. questioned Vice President Sara Duterte’s whereabouts amid flooding in several areas of Luzon, while again urging her to personally face the impeachment proceedings against her.
Speaking at a press conference following the 16th day of the impeachment trial on Monday, Abante criticized Duterte for allegedly being out of the country while flooding affected communities.
“Baha na sa buong Luzon. Anong ginagawa ng ating Vice President? Nagpupunta sa iba’t ibang bansa. Just imagine ha, meron tayong impeachment court dito, dapat humaharap siya,” Abante said.
He also questioned Duterte’s recent public activities and called on her to appear before the impeachment court.
“Nasaan siya? Nasaan siya ngayon? Gusto kong tanungin nasaan ba siya ngayon? Meron akong nakita na video, sumasayaw pa siya eh. Nasaan ba siya ngayon?” he said.
Abante then directly addressed the Vice President, saying, “Madam Vice President, bumabaha na. Nagagalit na ang Diyos.”
He reiterated his call for Duterte to face the impeachment court and explain her side.
“Humarap ka na. Humarap ka na. Para matapos na ito,” Abante said.
Abante made the remarks after Day 16 of the impeachment trial, as the proceedings continued to tackle allegations involving the alleged misuse of confidential funds of the Office of the Vice President (OVP).
