HPA extends over Northern Luzon — PAGASA

The ridge of a High Pressure Area (HPA) is extending over Northern Luzon on Wednesday, April 1, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
High pressure areas typically bring fair weather conditions, but may also result in extremely hot temperatures, especially during the dry season.
Based on PAGASA’s monitoring, the following areas recorded high heat index levels today:
- Virac, Catanduanes – 45°C
- Cotabato City, Maguindanao – 41°C
- Bacnotan, La Union – 40°C
- Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – 40°C
- Mambusao, Capiz – 40°C
- Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur – 40°C
Meanwhile, in its 4:00 a.m. forecast, the state weather bureau said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
