A ridge of a High Pressure Area (HPA) continues to extend over Northern and Central Luzon on Monday, April 6, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Due to this weather system, Metro Manila and the rest of the country are expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with chances of isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by localized weather disturbances.
Wind and Coastal Water Conditions
PAGASA reported that Northern and Central Luzon will have light to moderate winds coming from the southeast to south, with slight to moderate coastal waters.
The rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate winds moving east to southeast, also with slight to moderate sea conditions.
Meanwhile, Visayas and Mindanao will have light to moderate winds coming from the east to northeast, with coastal waters remaining slight to moderate.
Heat Index
The highest heat index for the day was recorded in Dumangas, Iloilo and at Mactan International Airport in Cebu, both reaching 42 degrees Celsius, indicating a “danger” level that may pose health risks with prolonged exposure.
PAGASA advises the public to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight during peak hours, and remain alert for possible thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon or evening.
