House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III said the House of Representatives sees no sufficient basis to justify the impeachment complaint filed against President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., stressing that the President is clearly fulfilling his mandate in accordance with the law.

In a press statement dated January 19, Dy emphasized that impeachment is a serious and rigorous constitutional process that should not be used for political purposes or to sow division. He said lawmakers have the responsibility to carefully receive and examine such complaints with utmost caution and respect for the Constitution.

Dy added that the House remains focused on its legislative duties as Congress resumes session, prioritizing the passage of meaningful laws aimed at improving the lives of Filipinos.

The Speaker reiterated that impeachment should only proceed when there is a clear and substantial legal basis, underscoring the need to protect democratic institutions from misuse.
