

The House of Representatives referred the four impeachment complaints filed against Vice President Sara Duterte to its Committee on Justice on Monday, February 23.
RH Milky Rigonan reported that the one-year bar rule will take effect from the said date until February 23, 2027.
The first impeachment complaint against the vice president was filed by the Makabayan coalition and was endorsed by the Makabayan bloc. Representatives Antonio Tiñio of the ACT Teachers Partylist, Renee Co of the Kabataan Partylist and Sara Elago of the Gabriela Women’s Partylist endorsed the said complaint.
Meanwhile, the second impeachment complaint was filed by various groups led by Tindig Pilipinas. It was endorsed by ML Partylist Rep. Leila de Lima and Akbayan Partylist Rep. Perci Cendaña.
De Lima also endorsed the third complaint against Duterte, filed by religious groups and lawyers.
The fourth impeachment complaint was filed by Atty. Nathaniel Cabrera and was endorsed by La Union 1st District Rep. Paolo Ortega and Manila 6th District Rep. Bienvenido “Benny” Abante.
The Committee on Justice, which is chaired by Batangas 2nd District Rep. Gerville Luistro, may begin its hearing on impeachment complaints against the vice president next week.
