The House prosecution panel has announced changes in the assignment of its members as preparations continue for the upcoming impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte before the Senate impeachment court.

According to Justice Committee Chair and lead prosecutor Gerville Luistro, she will no longer serve as team leader for one of the four Articles of Impeachment, opting instead to focus on her role as lead prosecutor for the case.

Under the revised assignments, Manila Representative Joel Chua will now head the team handling the article related to the alleged misuse of confidential funds, while Bukidnon Representative Keith Flores will take charge of the article concerning alleged bribery.

Luistro said the prosecution panel remains actively preparing for the formal start of the trial, conducting regular meetings, workshops, and mock proceedings for each of the four impeachment articles.

The House prosecution team is currently awaiting formal notice from the Senate regarding the official schedule of the impeachment trial against Vice President Duterte.
