The House prosecution panel said it expects the upcoming impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte to be open to the public, including possible live broadcasts from both the Senate and the House of Representatives.

During a press conference on Monday, June 8, House prosecution member Rep. Renee Co emphasized the importance of transparency and wider public engagement as the impeachment process moves forward.

“We hash out the finer details in the coming days. Pero ang inaasahan din natin, may live stream ang Senate, may live stream ang House of Representatives,” Co said.

She added that media organizations are expected to provide continuous, real-time coverage of the proceedings, allowing the public to follow developments closely.

“Makikita din natin, I'm sure, ang mga media nakaantabay at blow-by-blow prepared na magbigay ng updates sa mamamayan. So inaasahan natin na engaged ang taong bayan,” she said.

Co also encouraged broader civic participation, suggesting that the public engage in discussions and even conduct their own viewing sessions to better understand the issues beyond political narratives.

She noted that encouraging critical discussion among citizens is part of strengthening political participation and public awareness as the impeachment process unfolds.
