House party leaders on Monday reaffirmed their support for President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. and said Congress remains solid despite recent allegations filed by former Ako Bicol Party-list Representative Zaldy Co.

In a press conference, Deputy Speaker Ronaldo Puno said the House majority remains solid amid weekend developments and expressed confidence in the leadership of both the President and Congress.

“We have the representatives of the 5 major parties that comprise the majority in Congress. I guess dito pa lang makikita natin that may message na talaga that the majority is solid in Congress na hindi kami nalilito or nagugulat dyan sa mga sinasabing mga imbentong kwento,” Puno said.

“Everybody is in support of President Marcos here," he added.

Puno stressed that the briefing aimed to inform the public that Congress continues to back the President.

“Kaya nga kanina nag-uusap kami. Parang ako nga, parang, ‘Patulan pa ba natin ‘yan?’ I mean, you know, bayaan mo na sa social media, palabas lahat ng inconsistencies diyan. Pero hindi, we felt that it is important for the public to know that Congress is in support of the President.”,” he added.

The press conference comes after Co directly implicated former House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Marcos in allegations of purported insertions in the 2025 national budget.

House leaders urged Co to return to the Philippines to substantiate his claims.

Puno also questioned Co’s credibility, saying the former representative is the “most guilty” in the controversy.

Addressing Co’s claim that he had not personally profited from the alleged insertions, Puno said, “Hindi mo pwedeng bunutin 'yong sinabi niya and then separate it from everything else, kasi sabi niya wala raw siyang kinikita sa mga insertions, which is mukhang 'di naman totoo," he said.

He also dismissed the allegation that Romualdez would have authorized violence against Co.

“Wala sa personality ni former Speaker Martin ‘yun na magpapabaril ng tao. An accusation like that is so bad na kung talagang walang kabase-base naman, siguro ‘wag na lang patulan,” he said.

“Pakita niya, where does he get that i"nformation from? Sino nagsabi sa kanyang ginagawa nun siya?," Puno noted.

In Co's video statement released starting last Friday, he accused Marcos, Romualdez, and several cabinet members of orchestrating in insertions in the 2025 national budget.
