The House of Representatives launched free rides for commuters from San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, to Quezon City.
The “Biyaheng Damayan” project is a joint effort by House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III and House Majority Leader and Ilocos Rep. Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos, RH Milky Rigonan reported.
According to the Ilocos Representative, it is the government’s duty to ensure that there are immediate responses in place for workers, students, and other commuters, especially now that transport fares might increase due to the fuel price surge caused by the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
Under the libreng sakay program, four buses will be deployed every Monday, Thursday, and Friday.
It will travel from San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, to Welcome Rotonda in Quezon City; and from Welcome Rotonda to Fairview Terraces, from 5:30 AM until 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
The project is in coordination with House Secretary General Cheloy Garafil and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
