The House of Representatives has canceled its plenary session and implemented a work-from-home (WFH) arrangement for its employees on Monday, August 10, due to heavy rainfall and flooding brought by the southwest monsoon or 'habagat.'

House Secretary General Atty. Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil issued the advisory Monday morning as inclement weather and flooding continued to affect Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon.

“In view of the heavy rainfall and flooding brought about by the Southwest Monsoon, a Work-from-Home (WFH) arrangement shall be implemented in the House of Representatives today, 10 August 2026,” Velicaria-Garafil said.

She added that the plenary session scheduled for Monday would resume on Tuesday, August 11.

The House said the WFH arrangement was implemented "to ensure the safety of House personnel amid flooding and hazardous travel conditions caused by the continued rains."
