Senator-judge Risa Hontiveros urged the impeachment court to withhold judgment on allegations presented in the trial until all relevant evidence and witnesses have been heard.

During Day 33 of Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial on Monday, Hontiveros cited a lesson from her parents as the court tackled documents concerning alleged malversation of public funds and property.

“Turo din naman po ng nanay at tatay ko… hindi ko muna ipre-presume na ang anumang bagay o anuman ay tsismis hanggang marinig ko po lahat,” Hontiveros said.

Hontiveros said the court should hear from other relevant institutions, including banks and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), before determining the credibility of the allegations presented by the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC).
