Manila mayoralty candidate Sam Verzosa has conceded in the 2025 elections after falling far behind former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno in the vote count.

In a statement released at midnight on Monday, Versoza said he respects the will of the people and expressed his gratitude to those who supported his campaign.

Versoza admitted that he knew from the beginning that running for office would be a challenge, especially as a first-time candidate, but the love and support of the people made him feel the true essence of service and compassion.

Versoza also extended his congratulations to Isko Moreno and expressed hope that his victory would benefit the people of Manila.

"Manila deserves nothing less than honest, transparent, and compassionate leadership," he said.

Versoza vowed to continue serving the city to the best of his ability, through his projects, and in his everyday life.

As of 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Versoza ranked third among 11 mayoralty candidates, garnering 171,401 votes or 18.15% of the total.

Meanwhile, Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna is currently in second place with 197,747 votes, or 20.94% of the total.
