Actress-host Mariel Rodriguez Padilla expressed strong support for the continued political career of her husband, Senator Robin Padilla, saying she believes his public service is “not yet finished” during her guest appearance on Senator Imee Marcos’s podcast "Imee&You," released on May 16.

In the interview, Mariel clarified her previous remarks that sparked public discussion, stressing that her statement “they don’t deserve him” referred to critics who speak negatively against the senator, not his supporters.

She emphasized that many communities continue to rely on his leadership.

“Yung mga Muslim communities, indigenous groups, ang daming people na umaasa sa kanya… hindi pa po tapos,” Mariel said, adding that there is still more work that needs to be done in public service.

When asked directly if she wants her husband to continue in politics, Mariel gave a clear response:

“So when you ask me if I want him to continue, yes. For me, I want him to continue. Hindi pa po tapos,” she said, adding that many initiatives and legislative efforts remain unfinished.

The discussion also touched on the challenges of passing legislation and delivering public service, with both Mariel and Sen. Marcos noting the long process involved in enacting reforms and responding to public needs.
