Despite the challenges of imprisonment, contractor Sarah Discaya has reportedly been adjusting well to life inside Lapu-Lapu City Jail.
Speaking to DZRH News, her spokesperson, Atty. Cornelio Samaniego III, said that it is normal for anyone to find jail life difficult, especially when sharing a crowded cell with other inmates.
Discaya is visited regularly by her four children at the facility.
Yesterday, the Lapu-Lapu Regional Trial Court rejected Discaya’s motion to return to the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), as well as her motion to quash the information filed against her.
When asked about her condition at the Senate, her husband Curlee Discaya’s lawyer said she is “okay” and maintaining her health, though she is avoiding rice due to limited exercise and restricted movement in detention.
Earlier, Discaya’s eldest child had requested a Christmas furlough for her in the Senate, but the leadership denied the plea.
