Authorities recovered more than P1 million worth of illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of a high-value drug personality in Balasan, Iloilo.

Police identified the suspect as a 43-year-old resident of Barangay Poblacion Norte, who was apprehended after Balasan police received intelligence reports regarding his alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade.

Jocelyn Maque of Aksyon Radyo reports that according to Police Lt. Patrick John Alabado, officer-in-charge of the Balasan Municipal Police Station, the suspect admitted that he had been both using and selling illegal drugs.

Recovered from the operation were 181 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value exceeding P1 million.

Investigators said the suspect’s supply reportedly came from sources within the provinces of Iloilo and Capiz.

The suspect is now under police custody as authorities prepare the necessary documents for the filing of appropriate cases.
