The southwest monsoon or Habagat will continue to affect Luzon and the Visayas, bringing rains and thunderstorms over several areas on Sunday, September 6, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Based on PAGASA’s 4 a.m. weather bulletin, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro will experience occasional rains due to the southwest monsoon.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Western Visayas, the rest of Central Luzon, the rest of MIMAROPA, Rizal, and Laguna will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by Habagat.
The rest of Luzon and the Visayas will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also due to the southwest monsoon.
In Mindanao, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected due to localized thunderstorms.
Tropical Storm Krovannh monitored outside PAR
Meanwhile, PAGASA is still monitoring Tropical Storm Krovannh (2624), formerly known as “Pilandok,” which remained outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as of 3 a.m. Sunday.
Krovannh was located 875 kilometers northeast of extreme Northern Luzon, at coordinates 25.5°N, 128.7°E.
The tropical storm has maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center, with gustiness of up to 80 kilometers per hour.
It was moving east-southeastward at 10 kilometers per hour.
