The southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, will continue to bring rains over much of Luzon and the western section of the Visayas on Sunday, July 26, according to PAGASA.

In its latest weather forecast, PAGASA said Pangasinan and Zambales will experience occasional rains due to the enhanced southwest monsoon.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, as well as the provinces of Aklan and Antique, are expected to have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, also caused by the southwest monsoon.

PAGASA advised residents in affected areas to remain vigilant for possible flooding and landslides, especially in low-lying and mountainous areas prone to these hazards during prolonged rainfall.

The rest of the country, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

As of 3:00 a.m. Sunday, Typhoon Noul remained outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

The typhoon was last located 745 kilometers west-northwest of Itbayat, Batanes, packing maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 195 kilometers per hour. It is moving northwestward at 20 kilometers per hour.

Although Typhoon Noul is outside PAR, PAGASA said it continues to enhance the southwest monsoon, which is bringing rain over parts of the country.
