

The suspect in the fatal shooting that left two people dead at a condominium in Parañaque City was arrested Friday night, March 6, the Southern Police District (SPD) said.
According to the authorities, the suspect was apprehended during a follow-up operation on March 6 at around 8:30 p.m. in another condominium complex in Barangay Moonwalk, Parañaque City, more than 48 hours after the incident.
The suspect, identified by police as alias “William,” 59, Filipino, unemployed, and a resident of Barangay Marcelo Green, Parañaque City, was arrested by operatives of the Parañaque City Police Station following sustained intelligence gathering, tracking, and follow-up operations.
Police investigation showed that the suspect allegedly opened fire at around 7:59 p.m. on March 4 inside the basketball court area of a residential complex in Barangay Marcelo Green.
Two residents were killed in the shooting, while four other individuals sustained injuries.
Authorities said they recovered two 9mm pistols, four magazines, and 47 rounds of live ammunition from the suspect during the arrest. Several personal items believed to be related to the incident were also confiscated.
The suspect is set to face two counts of murder, four counts of frustrated murder, and violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
The charges are being prepared for filing before the Parañaque City Prosecutor’s Office through inquest proceedings.
Police also served an existing warrant of arrest against the suspect for homicide, which was issued by the Taguig City Regional Trial Court Branch 153 on June 16, 2023.
The suspect is currently under the custody of the Parañaque City Police Station.
