A 24-hour gun ban will be enforced in the National Captial Region (NCR), Central Luzon, and Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, and Rizal (Calabarzon) on July 24, the second State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr.

In an order released by the Philippine National Police (PNP), all permits to carry firearms outside of residence (PTCFOR) are suspended starting 12:01 AM until 12 midnight on July 24.

The order stated that only members of the PNP, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and other law enforcement agencies are allowed to carry firearms.

"This is to ensure that the activity will be free from firearm-related incidents and the populace will be safe," the PNP said.
