The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has begun implementing its “Balik Ginhawa” loan relief program, aiming to refund over ₱19 billion to approximately 1.37 million qualified members and pensioners nationwide.
The initiative follows a directive from President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. to ease the financial burden of Filipinos amid ongoing economic challenges. The program, formally known as Loan Moratorium Through Refund, provides cash reimbursements equivalent to up to three months of loan payments.
As of Tuesday, April 7, the GSIS reported that 373,704 members have already qualified and applied for the program, covering a total refund amount of ₱5.25 billion.
Beneficiaries will receive their refunds in full or lump sum, which will be credited directly to their GSIS ATM accounts within three working days after approval.
Eligible members and pensioners are encouraged to apply through the GSIS Touch mobile app, as the agency continues to expand access to the program and accelerate financial assistance distribution.
