A group of protesters marched to the House of Representatives on Monday, December 29, condemning the approval of the 2026 national budget.
The groups gathered at the House of Representatives’ south gate, holding up signs that read: “Pondo sa serbisyo! Hindi sa dahas at korapsyon,” ikulong ang mga kurakot!,” and “abolish all pork.”
During the protest, Kabataan Partylist Rep. Renee Co expressed frustration over the increase in pork barrel funds, specifically in the presidential pork, generals' pork, and others.
On Sunday, members of the Senate and the House of Representatives formally signed the bicameral conference committee (bicam) report of the proposed 2026 General Appropriations Bill (GAB).
This signing followed days of marathon meetings between both parties from December 13 to 18.
