The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) successfully repatriated groups of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Fiji, Kuwait, and Lebanon on September 26 and 27.

16 Filipino seafarers arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 from Suva, Fiji aboard Flight CX901 on September 26.

According to reports, the seafarers were allegedly compelled to sign contracts that differed from the agreements made before their departure from the Philippines.

The repatriation was arranged through the coordination of the Migrant Workers Office and the Philippine Embassy in New Zealand, which secured the necessary clearances.

Another group of repatriated workers arrived at NAIA Terminal 3 on September 27. This included 21 OFWs with two dependents from Kuwait via Flight QR928, 18 OFWs from Kuwait via Flight GF154, and 14 OFWs from Lebanon via Flight EY440.

The workers were also provided with assistance packages that covered immediate needs, including meals, transport, temporary shelter, and financial support.

OWWA and DMW said they will continue to provide assistance to repatriated workers to ensure their safe and orderly return to the country.
