Gov't workers to receive mid-year bonus starting May 15 — DBM
by Luwela Amor15 May 2026

Qualified government employees will begin receiving their mid-year bonuses starting Friday, May 15, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) announced.

The agency said the release covers eligible civilian personnel, as well as military and uniformed service members, across national government agencies.

According to the DBM, a total of ₱73.456 billion has been allocated for the Fiscal Year 2026 mid-year bonus, which will benefit more than 1.9 million government workers nationwide.

The mid-year bonus is equivalent to one month of basic pay as of May 15 and is granted to qualified personnel in accordance with DBM Budget Circular No. 2017-2. It is awarded to employees who meet the following conditions:

  • Have rendered at least an aggregate of four (4) months of service from July 1 of the immediately preceding year to May 15 of the current year;
  • Remain in government service as of May 15 of the current year; and
  • Have obtained at least a satisfactory performance rating in the immediately preceding rating period or applicable performance appraisal period.

DBM Secretary Rolando Toledo said the early release of the benefit reflects the administration’s recognition of the dedication and sacrifices of government personnel.

Under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the timely distribution of employee benefits remains a priority as part of efforts to support public servants, the DBM said.

The DBM said that employees of local government units (LGUs) are also entitled to the mid-year bonus, but the release of funds is subject to the approval of their respective local sanggunian.
