Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is expected to spotlight his administration’s response to the economic impact of the Middle East conflict in his fifth State of the Nation Address on Monday, even as Malacañang remains tight-lipped on the full contents of the speech.
The presidential palace has yet to disclose details, including the length of the address, despite queries from the press corps as of Sunday night.
However, Marcos said in a weekend ambush interview that aside from accomplishments, he would tackle government measures addressing challenges brought by external forces.
The administration’s response comes as the Asian Development Bank recently recognized the Philippines for having one of the most extensive policy responses in the region to cushion the effects of the Middle East crisis, which has driven global oil prices higher.
