Camarines Sur Governor L-Ray Villafuerte on Friday ordered all mayors, barangay captains, and members of the provincial disaster response teams to immediately carry out a forced evacuation ahead of Typhoon Uwan’s expected impact.
This comes after PAGASA issued a weather and tropical cyclone advisory on Friday, warning that Camarines Sur may experience 100 to 200 millimeters of rainfall from tomorrow noon until Monday noon of November 10.
According to the memorandum, the governor has ordered the forced evacuation starting tomorrow, November 8, for families living in areas prone to flooding, landslides, or storm surges.
Local officials have also been directed to ensure that all residents at risk are evacuated before 5 p.m.
Villafuerte also instructed agencies such as the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and the Philippine Army (PA) to coordinate with local governments to ensure an orderly evacuation and the safety of the residents.
Moreover, PAGASA has currently raised Signal No. 1 in six provinces of the Bicol Region.
