Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando urged Bulakenyos to stand united and work together to preserve the dignity of the province amid ongoing anomalies, emphasizing that accountability and integrity require the collective effort of both public officials and citizens.

Fernando made the call during the commemoration of the 127th Anniversary of the First Philippine Republic held at the historic Barasoain Church, where he encouraged the public to be voices of truth and to defend what is right for the sake of Bulacan and the nation.

He noted that the observance of the historic event coincided with the Feast of the Sto. Niño and the beginning of the year serve as a reminder that despite challenges and change, the Filipino people are always given the opportunity to begin anew.

The governor also expressed his gratitude to Bulakenyos and local officials from various municipalities and cities for their continued cooperation and dedication, particularly in extending assistance to those in need.

Meanwhile, San Juan City Mayor and League of Cities of the Philippines President Francisco Javier M. Zamora highlighted the historical ties between San Juan and Malolos, stressing the importance of collaboration among local governments to strengthen institutions and improve public service.

Malolos City Mayor Atty. Christian D. Natividad, along with officials from the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, echoed the call to honor the nation’s hard-earned freedom, as the event concluded with the ceremonial unveiling of the historical marker at the Bulacan Provincial Capitol.
