Newly assigned Acting Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Dave Gomez has instructed all PCO-appointed officials to tender their 'unqualified courtesy resignation' no later than Friday, July 18, 2025.
In a memorandum released this morning, Gomez directed all undersecretaries, assistant secretaries, directors, and other presidential appointees within the PCO and its attached agencies to comply with this request.
“I confirm that. It's part of the standard transition process to request the courtesy resignations of all political appointees,” Gomez explains.
In his order, Gomez stated that this decision was made “in the exigency of service and to give the undersigned a free hand to perform his duties and responsibilities.”
Meanwhile, all “political” appointees shall continue to report for work and perform their usual duties, as stated in the memo.
On his first day in office, Gomez expressed his intention to conduct a “fair, honest, and unbiased” performance audit within the PCO.
Gomez is the fifth PCO Secretary appointed under the Marcos Administration.
